From last few days I am thinking what I did in my last one year. I have almost stopped reading. Earlier at least I used to try. But from last more than one year I just stopped it. I used to try out new things, learn new things thats also stopped now. I used to go to office on weekends work late hours in office that’s also almost stopped now. Now I go only when someone call me for work.

Actually I worked on implementing a new idea. Which dint worked out. I learned a lot in the last one year but there was not use full results. I will write down my my learning/experiences later on. Its too late for that now.

Generally it is imposible to find location from ip address. There is no connection between IP address and the location of some host. Here are following tricks to guess the IP address of a host. Some companies maintain database using these tricks.

1. Using reverse DNS find out hosts name and hosts name can provide some information about country. Like take a examle of IP address 125.22.0.188 and do a nslookup on that “nslookup 125.22.0.188″ it give something like broadband.airtel.co.in so from the last .in we can figure out that this ip address belongs to INDIA. But reverse DNS does not works all the times it depends upon servers configuration. I domain can be hosted in another country even when it have name have .in in domain name.
2. Visit the hosts web site like www.geo-location.com and find out the location. Some sites mention their location on the web pages.

Sites like orkut.com are blocked in most of the companies. These are the few ways you can access the blocked sites

1. Using IP adress : Instead of giving the url of the website give the direct ip address of the website. Generally sites are blocked using the url string. But if the ISP is doing a reverse DNS(determining url using ip address) lookup the site will remain blocked.

2. Use cached pages : Type the url in google or yahoo.com and view the cached pages, But this technique will work only with static sites not with dynamic sites like orkut.com

3. Using translation services : Sites like google, altavista and yahoo provides language translation services. You can use these services to access the blockes sites. The trick is to translate the site from english to english. This ways you are using google and yahoo as proxy servers, which might have not blocked at your workplaces.

4. Using Proxy servers : You can anonymously surf the web using the proxy servers like www.proxy.org. Proxy servers hides your idenity (your ip address and host name) from the web. Beause using your identity you are accessing proxy site and from proxy site you will be accessing blocked sites.

5. URL Redirection : You can use the url redirection services like tinyurl.com. Using these you can access the blocked sites because the url remains the same in address bar.
